Winnie Mabenais a certified Personal Development Coach, Amazon Best Selling Author, Magazine Contributor, and an international speaker who has shared a stage with the Former President Republic of Mauritius Ameenah Gurib Fakim and the Former Minister of Trade and Industry in Botswana Ms. Bogolo Joy Kenewendo among other phenomenal women across the global. She has been featured on various traditional and social media platforms. She is also a co-author of "Dear Young Woman: There is triumph after trial ", a collaboration with other Women in the USA. Winnie is the founder and lead Coach of Living Positively Brand where she works to empower others to live above life's challenges and develop a positive mindset so they can live their lives positively through coaching, mentorship, speaking, and freelancing.
Being HIV positive and growing up in a rural community, Winnie Mabena is passionate about servant leadership, sustainable leadership, and systematic change, and in that regard, she is a Change Maker Xchange class of 2019 and alumni of Nudge Global Impact Challenge class of 2019. She is the founder of The Knowledge Effect a non-profit organization working to empower communities through promoting literacy, especially in rural communities. Under this she facilitates resource mobilization and fundraising to finance education for the vulnerable children in rural communities, provide mentorship, and run a reading club.
In terms of volunteer experience, Winnie is currently volunteering as a board chairperson for Young Women in Action an organization empowering young women to maximize their potential and take up leadership positions through capacity building, networking, and advocacy. She is a Trustee for Cruise Education Uganda. She volunteered with Plan International Zambia as the National Representative for the Youth Advisory Panel where she took part in local and international consultation processes on ending child marriage notably the formulation of social movement guidelines for southern Africa to end child marriage and traditional and social media campaigns on girls rights and education.
Winnie Mabena holds a Double Major Bachelor of Arts Degree in Library and Information Science and Public Administration and a Diploma in Management Studies. Her favorite quote is; I know what giving up looks like, I want to see what happens if I don't. With this, she believes positive is the new beautiful.
